Bonjour! My name is Patty Hodges or Madame Hodges to my students and I am one of two French teachers at Flathead High School. I am excited to teach 2 levels at FHS (French 1 and French 4) and a class of SciFi and Fantasy.
I was born and raised right here in Kalispell, Montana . I was a Cayuse Prairie Critter and I took French in room 147 right here at Flathead High School from, believe it or not, a lady by the name of Pat Hodge. You too could follow in my footsteps and I fully support any legal name changes that might be necessary to continue the legacy of French teachers by that name here at FHS. I received my bachelor's degree in English and French and a minor in English as a Second Language at the University of Montana-Missoula.
I feel very fortunate to have traveled to France multiple times over the years. I spent a year teaching English in Laval, France and I used that opportunity to travel around Europe. Additionally, I took a school group to France over Spring Break 2012, had an amazing experience taking students to Martinique over Spring Break 2014, and rocked a 3 week trip France and Switzerland during the summer of 2015.
When I am not re-reading Harry Potter or watching the films, I am probably considering how I can reference it in connection to whatever lesson I am preparing for you. I also enjoy reading Harry Potter (and sometimes even other books,,,, le gasp!) while camping, fishing and recreating in the out of doors with my family. In addition to my mild obsession with Harry Potter, I also enjoy anime and am the club advisor for the FHS Anime Club.
A word to the wise, I am mal à droite (clumsy), I will trip, spill, bump into things and break something in your presence. Please consider this fact when leaving your backpack in the walkways or your water bottle etc. on the edge of any desk. Merci!
